About Wallpaper Calculator

Wallpaper Calculator estimates room wall area, wallpaper strip requirements, and a recommended number of rolls.

Inputs are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to Navorika.

How the calculation works

Wall area

Gross wall area = room perimeter × wall height.

Net area

Net wall area = gross wall area - entered doors and windows area.

Strip method

Required strips are estimated from room perimeter ÷ roll width, while strips per roll are calculated from roll length ÷ wall height.

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Choose metres or feet.
  2. 2Enter room length, width, and wall height.
  3. 3Enter wallpaper roll width and length.
  4. 4Enter approximate door/window area and waste allowance.
  5. 5Review recommended roll quantity.

Understanding the result

The calculator checks both area coverage and the number of full-height strips available from each roll.

The larger roll requirement is used as the recommendation.

Important limitations

  • Pattern repeats, matching, trimming, damaged sections, irregular walls, alcoves, and complex openings may increase material usage.
  • Measure actual wallpaper roll dimensions rather than assuming all products use the same size.

Frequently asked questions

How many wallpaper rolls do I need?

Enter your room and roll measurements; the calculator estimates both wall area and full-height strip requirements.

Should I include waste?

Yes. A waste allowance helps account for trimming, errors, and pattern matching.

Should doors and windows be deducted?

They can be entered as an approximate combined area.
