Construction Estimate Builder lets you create a detailed project estimate from user-entered line items instead of relying on generic cost-per-square-foot assumptions.
All project details, customer information, quantities, rates, and estimate data are processed locally in the browser.
How the calculation works
Line-item direct cost
Each line amount equals quantity × unit cost. Direct cost is the sum of all materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and other line items.
Overhead and contingency
Overhead is applied to direct cost. Contingency is applied to direct cost plus overhead.
Markup and total
Markup is applied after direct cost, overhead, and contingency. Any entered discount is deducted before tax, then tax is applied to the remaining taxable amount.
How to use this calculator

Understanding the result
